Planning

To ensure a long-term and successful spatial planning process it is essential to focus on overall solutions. The government, municipalities, citizens, wind farm owners and organizations in the local communities have a large responsibility in elevating the spatial planning of the future and also to fulfil the Danish ambitions for sustainable energy. There is no doubt that the Danish population is behind the plan on integrating and installing more wind power.
2009 survey
In 2009 DWIA conducted a survey on the Danish population's opinion on energy production in the future. 91 percent of the population think that Denmark should expand the use of wind power and 85 percent think that the expansion can take place in their local area.
These are some of the the major findings in the survey, measuring the attitudes towards climate, energy and wind power, that has been submitted to 1052 Danes.
- 91 percent think that Denmark should expand the use of wind power
- 96 percent think that the Parliament should support the development of wind power, so that Denmark can maintain the position as a pioneer country
- 62 percent think that more than 50 percent of the Danish electricity production should come from wind power
